The white shore at Salda is not sand. It is hydromagnesite, a soft mineral deposit, and the water lying over it turns a shade of turquoise that has earned the lake its nickname, the Turkish Maldives. NASA has studied Salda because its mineral chemistry resembles Jezero Crater on Mars, the site the Perseverance rover was sent to explore.
The lake is the reason people come, but the drive there crosses some of the most striking landscape in the region, and this tour builds the canyon country around Salda into the day rather than treating it as something to be passed through. You get the postcard shoreline and the terrain that frames it.
There is time to swim and time to photograph. Bring a swimsuit, sunscreen and a hat — the shore is bright and there is very little shade anywhere around the water. Salda lies in Burdur province, so this is a longer drive than our tours inside Denizli.

The form sends us a reservation request. We then contact you by email or phone to confirm availability, the meeting point and the exact time. If we cannot run the tour on your chosen date, we will offer you an alternative or cancel the request at no cost to you.
