The ancient city of Hierapolis sits on the plateau directly above it. Denizli, the nearest city, is about twenty kilometres away and is the transport hub for the whole area: the bus terminal, the train station and the region’s own airport all serve it.

Seçenek 1: Denizli Çardak Havalimanı'na Uçun (DNZ)

This is the closest airport and the simplest arrival if the flight times work for you. Denizli Çardak is served by domestic flights, most commonly from Istanbul, and the journey from the airport to Pamukkale takes roughly an hour by road.

The catch is frequency: there are only a handful of flights a day, so your arrival time may not be flexible. If you land late in the evening or very early in the morning, arranging a transfer in advance saves a lot of stress — a Pamukkale havalimanı transferi geliş kapısında adınızın yazılı olduğu tabelayla sizi bekleyen biri olur, saat kaç olursa olsun.

Seçenek 2: İzmir'e Uçun (ADB)

İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport has far more international flights, which makes it the usual choice for visitors arriving from Europe. The drive to Pamukkale takes roughly three and a half to four hours depending on traffic and where exactly you join the motorway.

İzmir also has a practical advantage: the ancient city of Ephesus lies between İzmir and Pamukkale. Many visitors see Ephesus on the way through, or base themselves in Pamukkale and take an Efes günübirlik turu geri dönmek yerine buradan.

Seçenek 3: Antalya'ya Uçun (AYT)

If you are already on a beach holiday on the Mediterranean coast, Antalya is your starting point. The drive is around four to five hours through mountain scenery, and it is genuinely pleasant — but it is a long day if you try to do Pamukkale and return on the same date. We strongly suggest staying at least one night here rather than attempting it as a single very long round trip.

Seçenek 4: Şehirlerarası Otobüs

Turkey’s long-distance bus network is comfortable, inexpensive and reaches Denizli from almost everywhere — Istanbul, İzmir, Antalya, Cappadocia and beyond. Buses arrive at Denizli’s main terminal, and from there local minibuses (dolmuş) run to Pamukkale village regularly through the day, taking around half an hour.

This is the cheapest way to arrive. The main drawbacks are luggage handling and timing: if you arrive late at night with heavy bags, waiting for a minibus is less appealing. A shuttle transfer otogardan otelinize, bu sorunu ortadan kaldırıyor.

Seçenek 5: Tren

There is a rail connection between İzmir and Denizli. It is slower than the bus and the schedule is limited, but it is scenic and comfortable, and some travellers prefer it for exactly that reason. As with the bus, you arrive in Denizli rather than Pamukkale, so you still need the final short leg to the village.

Seçenek 6: Kendi Aracınızla

Roads in the region are good and well signposted, and a rental car gives you freedom to add places like Salda Lake, Aphrodisias or Laodicea at your own pace. Parking is available near both the southern and northern entrances to the site. Bear in mind that the two entrances are far apart on foot — if you park at one and walk down through the terraces, you will need a plan for getting back to your car.

Hangisini Seçmelisiniz?

İstanbul'dan kısıtlı zamanla geliyorsanız: Denizli Çardak'a uçun.

Avrupa'dan geliyorsanız: İzmir'e uçun ve yolda Efes'i görün.

Varış Saatleri Hakkında Bir Not

One practical tip that saves people a lot of frustration: if you are planning a sunrise balloon flight, try not to arrive the night before on a late connection. Pick-up for a flight is before dawn, and arriving at midnight makes for a very short night. Give yourself a full day in Pamukkale first if you can.

Biz Ayarlayalım

If you tell us your flight or bus details, we can arrange the transfer and have a driver waiting for you.
